Borowicz: 24 Fire, Emergency Services Departments Awarded Funding

LOCK HAVEN – Grant funding was awarded to 24 vitally important first responder companies serving the 76th District under the Pennsylvania Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, according to Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Clinton/Union).
The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.
“Our first responders’ commitment to protecting our citizens is beyond admirable and I am grateful to see our local companies receive this funding,” said Borowicz. “Thank you to every first responder across the 76th District, and Commonwealth for sacrificing to protect us.”

The funding for these grants comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and is supported by proceeds from slot machine gaming, not General Fund tax revenue.
